Patient Access to Alternative Treatments:
Beyond the FDA
February 23, 1998
The House Committee on Government Reform and Oversight
held public hearings to examine the current availability

The Committee heard from Members of Congress, patients and
professionals who testified about the barriers to access
they have faced, and the need for legislative changes to
meet growing consumer demand for access to safe and efficacious
therapeutic options.
